Let me introduce myself

My name is Dana. I am a wife and a mother to five little hooligans. I would not be the person I am today without my family. They push me to greatness, and ultimately pushed me on this journey to a better way of eating, cooking, and living.

Our healthy living consists of eating foods made from scratch. We are not sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, or vegan. We eat it all, but in moderation. The problem for families nowadays tends to be sugar, and wouldn’t you know it, there is sugar in nearly EVERYTHING you buy at the store… condiments, “healthy” foods, and more. So in order to battle the Sugar King, we’ve started making our own foods. I’m here to share with you how you can help your families eat better buy making wholesome meals. Spoiler Alert: We still use sugar.

Eating better takes time and for me it has taken a lot of energy, so in full disclosure I must say, “I do not follow these eating habits religiously.” I do my best to cook a wholesome healthy meal everyday, three times a day, but I’m human. What I mean by that is, every once in awhile I have a hard day. When I have a day when I feel like throwing in the towel, I might order out a pizza, or just make peanut butter and jelly for dinner. It doesn’t happen often, but it does indeed happen.

If you’re up for joining me on this journey, then subscribe to our mailing list, read the blog, and share it with your friends. You only have to do as much as you’re able. You may be able to go all in, or you may have to just try one meal a week. Whatever you are able to do, is going to benefit you and your family. So give yourself grace, and take it one day at a time (or even one hour at a time).
